Following on from the success of last year’s festival, Enterprise Ireland, in cooperation with Tourism Ireland, is organizing an Ireland Study Abroad Festival in Osaka and Tokyo this October.

Representatives from more than 20 Irish universities, colleges and language schools will attend. Open to agents, college representatives and students, this is a great opportunity to meet with Irish schools and colleges to discuss study abroad in Ireland.

The festival will also introduce Irish culture, Irish sport, live Irish music, dancing and typical Irish foods.

Story continues………. Only few days after news of 2 Indian school students went missing was published in these columns, similar kind of reports are coming again which suggests that now 4 of the 15 school students (Doaba Public School, Punjab, India), who recently went to United States on  NASA educational tour, have not returned to their homeland and local police has started investigation into their disappearance.

The students of Doaba Public School in village Parowal were accompanied by their teacher Meenu Sharma during the tour starting on July 21. The teacher who accompanied them did not return either, but sent an e-mail saying that she had got married. The teacher, Minu Sharma, who accompanied the 19 students said she wanted leave for one month after being married. They were holding valid US visas for three months.

Hoshiarpur’s police chief Sukhchain Singh Gill informed media men that he has deputed a deputy superintendent to look into the complaint lodged by school principal Balwinder Kaur. Complaint lodged by the Principal Balwinder Kaur on behalf of school administration has held the parents responsible for whole incident.

The four students have been identified as Sumit Sahni of village Lalian, Baljinder Singh of Ibrahimpur, Arshdeep of Badesron and Dalbir Singh of Chacknoa village.  All these villages are situated near Garhshankar town in Hoshiarpur District of Punjab State.

Sumit’s mother Rashwinder Kaur told the media over phone on Sunday that she was not aware about the disappearance of her son along with three other students. She said her son did not contact the family after reaching the United States. A theory which is unlikely to be adopted by the Police and School authorities.

The incident comes close on the heels of two students of Dayanand Model School in Jalandhar - Paramjit Singh and Kunal Bhandari - also disappearing in the United States. See our post dated  August 8, 2008 here.

Local police, US homeland security officials and the Indian embassy have been informed about the four missing students and their teacher.

School authorities claimed that missing students and their parents they had planned to go missing. Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar districts of Punjab are known for their expatriate community and willingness of people to settle abroad through legal or illegal means.

Punjab’s prominent Propaganda Political Party (Lok Bhalai Party) has not reacted to the reports yet. Lok Bhalai Party is known for threatening Travel Agents, Study Abroad Agencies and NRIs (Non Resident Indians) to collect money with the help of their own ‘illegal army’ of party supporters mainly unemployed Punjabi youths who visit every travel agent or Study abroad agencies posing as prospective clients or students who wish to study abroad and than fabricating the travel agent by threatning to file false case of Kabootarbazi (a term used in India to describe the different ways of agents to send people abroad on tourist or visitor’s visa for stay illegally in foreign land). It is about time for the party president Balwant Singh Ramoowalia to buy a ticket to USA to look for missing students and teachers, or it is not in their political agenda? Probably the party is looking for some big Travel Agency in either Punjab or Delhi so that they can fabricate them in this popular incident which has raised many eyebrows including NASA officials which are now thinking about suspending further educational trips from Indian schools to prevent such incidents.

Usually it is study abroad agents in India who are becoming victim of police brutality everyday. Just pick any newspaper in India and you’ll find at least one or two stories regarding innocent people being robbed of Thousands of dollars by agents on pretext of sending them abroad. It has become a sort of fashion for Indian Media to publish such stories without cross-checking the facts. Indian Police also deals such cases with one track mind. Growing numbers of false cases being registered by Police against Agents, mainly Study abroad Consultants are making things worse for this fastest growing industry in India. We will discuss this serious problem in our future posts but lets share one interesting story which is not new to you if you are an Indian but for any non-Indian it can be very interesting. We don’t know what kind of step Police will take this time or again some agency will be held responsible?
In a well planned effort to settle abroad two students of Dayanand Model School in Dayanand Nagar, Jalandhar City of the  Punjab state, are reported missing from their educational trip to USA. Students of class XII non-medical are missing since the group reached USA.
The school authorities termed this it pre-planned attempt of the students and their parents to help the students reach foreign shores. The parents said the students went missing due to negligent attitude of the teachers. Both students made dramatic separation from the group. While Paramjeet Singh left the group saying he was going out of the hotel for telephone call ,the second boy Kunal Bhandari left the group in four days after which he never returned.
Before leaving Paramjeet met his teacher and requested her to be permitted to stay with one of his uncles for one night in New York. The teacher refused him but he made a move and did not returned. The school authorities informed the New York police but nothing came out of it .
Principal of the school Raj Kumar Sehgal said this had set wrong precedent for the students and brought a bad name to the school. “ The parents and the students are hand in glove with each other. The school authorities and the managing committee are surprised at the attitude of the parents of both students. The parents used the educational trip as an easy way to reach the foreign shores. The parents have not filed an FIR with the police as well”.
“The second student Kunal Bhandari too created a mischief by asking for permission attending marriage of his relative in New York. However when I refused him, his parents joined him there and he left the group despite my warnings. This is a conspiracy”, he said adding the situation had become all the more serious, as Paramjeet had taken his passport along making it difficult to track him.
Efforts to contact Gurnam Kaur mother of Paramjeet Singh turned futile, as she was not available for comments. Students of Dayanand Model School had gone for 12 -day educational trip along with four other schools from the city to Orlando and New York from July 22 to August 22. Eleven students had gone for the trip from Dayanand Model School who were accompanied by a science teacher and principal of the school. “We had a plan to take the students to Orlando and New York for a conference at NASA and a pleasure trip to Disneyland but things turned the other way round”, added Sehgal.

His school is SHUT DOWN , His American School Of Aviation has become the biggest SCAM in Aviation Industry , He has become NOTORIOUS ,his family has become NOTORIOUS too, his bad deeds in India and also here have been revealed to the world , there are Records in the Police Station and in DA’s office , His house is in Fore Closure , The victim’s are cursing him , whatever he was doing from 1995 or maybe before that has now come to an end and so on.
If you really love your parents and believe in GOD then you must be knowing the meaning of BLESSINGS and CURSING. Do you know what do we achieve after someone gives us Blessing or someone CURSES us for we doing something wrong ? If yes , then you must know what will Singh and Reny get in return for what they have done.

Do you think this is not at least the START of really “FIXING” him. Hundreds of families have been saved , so what else do you want?
Instead of sitting on ass and letting him loot us and also loot others, we struggled hard to STOP him from doing that.

Well let me tell you , in today’s world people call them as GOD , and you know the history , they had to suffer too. Yes you read it right, they suffered too, they fought for TRUTH and JUSTICE , and now we call them as GOD. If anyone is born or died , its all done by god. God is really watching everything.

So what if we lost our $17,000/ , but at least we didn’t bend our knees and kept quite, but instead we fought , so that Singh should be punished for what he has done.
Well, if God has struggled then who are we???
